Slip the bead onto your hook. Placing the small hole towards
the hook eye. (You may have to debard the hook first.) |

Select 4-6 of the longest fibers from the base of the center tail of a male ring neck pheasant. (The outside fibers of the two feathers behind the center feather behind the center feather will also work well.) |

Start your tying tread behind the bead-head,
attaching the rib as you wrap your thread rearwards.
Attach the tail using 3 tight wraps. Do not cut the fibers. |

Twist the fibers like a rope and wrap forward (2/3 of the body length).
Secure and clip excess. |

Attach 4-6 strands of peacock herl and wrap full to create
the thorax. |

Counter wrap the copper wire to reinforce the entire body. |

Select a well marked soft hackle (partridge), clean the
base and tie in the tip right behind the bead. |

Fold and wrap the hackle. Tie off and whipfinish. |
